Hotel Lifehacks

One other recommendation is to take full advantage of the excellent Spirit Health and Fitness Club at the hotel. The big indoor swimming pool, along with the sauna and up-to-date gym, is just great features that distinguish this hotel from so many others in the area. Make some time in your schedule, maybe late afternoon after a day of sightseeing, to have a rest in the spa facilities. It’s a great way to calm down and does much for your accommodation.

Great to get the best out of the location by having the hotel as a perfectly positioned base for a ‘city and country’ holiday. Spend one day ‘in town’ in historic Gloucester with a visit to the magnificent cathedral (as seen in Harry Potter) and the newly regenerated Historic Docks. Drive the beautiful Cotswolds on day two and visit villages like Painswick and Bourton-on-the-Water. Easy to get to the M5 and A417 from the hotel so breaching these ‘both Worlds’ trips is incredibly simple.

While the restaurant is nice, getting in the car to Gloucester Quays would be most recommended for such a great dining experience. This lively waterfront destination is only a 15-minute drive from the hotel and houses many first-class restaurants, whether of established chains like Zizzi or independents, in a vibrant historical setting far more than the immediate vicinity of the hotel, and great for outlet shopping too.

A very appreciable life hack for all the family travelers is a program which Holiday Inn provides that “Kids stay and Eat Free.” Generally, the criterion for this is children under 12 when accompanying parents stay within the same room. Such rules could definitely cut down on their meal expenses. Just make sure that at the time of booking, you check out specific terms and conditions because that can make a reasonably good valued stay even cheaper for a holiday for a family.
